We all love our pets, and most of us would do about anything to save them if something happened, even taking out a payday loan if necessary. Recently, a Massachusetts team of veterinarians reconstructed the face of an unfortunate cat that met with a horrific accident. Edgar, a four year old female longhair, tried to find a warm place to sleep outside, and crawled into an engine compartment for the night. In the morning, the car’s owner started the car, and Edgar’s face was all but taken off by the blades of the engine fan. Sometime after the incident, the poor deformed kitty found her way home, and her owner discovered her – sans face – in the litter box, and passed out from the shock. After her owner woke up, she rushed Edgar to the vets’ office to have the damage assessed. Luckily, there wasn’t any serious blood loss or nerve damage. Veterinary surgeon Michael Pavletic used 35 stitches to reattach the kitty’s face, with minimal problems, and the only cosmetic damage at this point is that the poor critter looks like somebody punched her square in the face. The befouled feline will have to take some medicine for the time being, but appears to be doing fine, even though the owner may have to take out a payday loan to cover the cost of surgery.
