Macworld has always been renowned for fantastic crowds, scintillating keynotes and big surprises. Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, was on stage at the Macworld with the much anticipated mobile device and contrary to the hottest conjectures, it’s irrefutably dubbed iPhone. So, the elongated tale of the iPhone, with all its rumors, hype, and gossip, has come to an end. Let’s take a close look at the Apple’s real iPhone, notable specs and unfortunate realities about the new device. It’s the time to swap chitchat with reality.
‘iPhone is a revolutionary and magical product that is literally five years ahead of any other mobile phone. We are all born with the ultimate pointing device-our fingers-and iPhone uses them to create the most revolutionary user interface since the mouse.‘ said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.

The Apple iPhone rocks the Mac OS X that will let the users enjoy the rich experience of using it as a multi-purpose gadget. The device comes mingling three products in one, a revolutionary new mobile phone, a widescreen iPod featuring touch controls and a breakthrough internet communication device with desktop-class E-Mail, web browsing, and searching.

Main features that make the iPhone a must-have
• REVOLUTIONARY PHONE: Apple’s iPhone is a revolutionary phone that offers the users the ease of making a call by simply pointing your finger at a name or number in your call register or phonebook. Moreover, it has the capability to sync all your contacts from a PC, Mac, or Internet service that will keep your contact list up-to-date at the click of your finger. The ground-breaking Visual Voicemail functionality will allow the users to listen to the voicemail messages in a desired order the way you navigate through your mail inbox. Its SMS app with a full QWERTY soft keyboard lets you send and receive SMS in multiple sessions.
• WIDESCREEN iPOD: iPhone is also a widescreen iPod touting touch controls that lets the music nerds scroll through and enjoy their much loved tracks from a complete list of songs, artists, and albums at the flip of the finger. The striking inclusion on an iPod for the very first time is the Cover Flow that helps to look through the music library by album cover artwork. All the iPod content including audiobooks, audio podcasts, video podcasts, music videos, and movies can be viewed on the Apple’s iPhone. Users can playback any audio or video content purchased from the online iTunes store on the iPhone.

Five things Apple could have sorted out but failed to do so
The iPhone is all touch screen, which is pretty cool. I am pretty clear in my mind that most of the gadget geeks would have been totally overwhelmed by the tempting and innovative features of the iPhone but it seems that good guys at Apple forgot to give proper justice to the phone on some grounds.
• It could have been great if it had support for 3G also
• Memory can’t be expanded. That is surely a downside
• Lack of Office support
• Battery is not removable
• Sadly, there’s no downloading of songs and video directly from iTunes
But still, iPhone rocks in its own style with a horde of appealing features for the tech geeks that we discussed above.

Apple iPhone Round up: The reaction is by and large positive
While some in the tech community took the iPhone as a revolutionary phone, some grieved over the hefty price and some were disappointed with the lack of 3G. Anyway, on the whole, reaction was almost positive. Here are some reactions to the Apple iPhone by the tech punditry.
Engadget: iPhone is first party software ONLY — i.e. not a smartphone by conventional terms, being that a smartphone is a platform device that allows software to be installed. That means hungry power-users — you know, those people ready and willing to plunk down $600 for an 8GB musicphone — won’t be able to extend the functionality of their phone any more than Apple.
Gizmodo: iPhone introduces an entirely new user interface based on a large multi-touch display and pioneering new software, letting users control iPhone with just their fingers. iPhone also ushers in an era of software power and sophistication never before seen in a mobile device, which completely redefines what users can do on their mobile phones.
NerdApproved: The specs aren’t what I’m focused on so much though- a big screen is nice, their new multi-touch feature is certainly cool (and far less hateful than texting out emails), and it runs OSX of all freakin’ things.
Reghardware: The iPhone has more than one gig, of course; but it also has to carry a lot more data. It has email, video and other computing functions, all of which generate and use storage. Even in the big eight Gbyte version will give the user less music storage than the ipod Nano (eight Gbytes max) and probably less than the 4GB model.
Michael Gartenberg, Jupiter Research: The iPhone is the most beautiful and functional phone I have ever seen. Apple totally overcame all my issues with music phones and there’s an elegance that must be seen to be appreciated. First time I held it, I was speechless for more than a few seconds.
TechFresh: It comes equipped with Max OS X which essentially allow you to use the iPhone as a true all-purpose gadget that allows you to make calls, listen to music, and surf the net.
TimBajarin, Creative Strategies: This product is revolutionary and is critical for Apple’s future success in the mobile music market. It could become the de facto standard in this space and will set a very high bar that competitors will have to deal with in the future
Om Malik: In a twisted way, this is one rumor mill we’re almost sad to see grind to a halt.

Moreover Apple should also have added some support for the 3G networks. But if we consider the price of $499 I don’t think that we can expect any thing more out of it.
